We’re heading to Orlando this afternoon so I wanted to touch on all of your recent questions while I’m in the Disney spirit. I deleted the second page of questions by mistake so I’m so sorry if I missed yours. Will do this again sometime soon!
Before we dive in, I’m so excited to share that I’m launching my very first ebook next month! The digital guide is all about taking toddlers to Disney, the stress-free way! I love talking with you all about all things Disney but we rarely have the time to dive deep on IG. I’m so excited to finally offer a resource that’s a more in-depth approach to help you plan and conquer your next Disney trip with tiny kiddos! Be on the lookout for an exact launch date soon! ๐
Q: Are you a travel agent?
I am not a travel agent. Just a life-long Disney goer and now an annual pass holder with a Disney addiction and two children that I’ve turned into tiny Disney lovers. My friends Mary Helen, Courtney, and Natalie can help you plan your trip! Their services are free-99 and they are the actual BEST. I’ve used their services myself and have given them the MF stamp of approval + a five-star review! Even if you’ve been to Disney hundreds of times, having help with resort bookings, dining, and someone to keep you in the loop on park policy changes is a huge help! What’s not to love about free help?! I’m all about that life!
Q: Should I plan multiple magic kingdom days for a trip with toddlers?
I don’t see why not! There’s plenty to see and do in MK and it’s definitely impossible to tackle it all in one day. Don’t discount the other parks though! There’s so much to do on Disney property – I always recommend breaking up long trips with resort days. Play at the pool, explore Disney Springs, grab dinner at another resort. Slow is my Disney speed of choice and I think most toddlers are fans of that pace.
Q: Grand Floridian or Polynesian?
I’m a Grand Floridian girl at heart but the Polynesian is a fun spot! If you’ve never stayed at the GF that would be my pick! They’re so close though so you can take advantage of the dining options at both resorts regardless of where you stay.
Q: What do I wear?! I know what my kids are wearing but mama needs help!
I pinky promise I will share what I wear in a super in-depth post very soon. It’s a big job so I’ve been putting it off BUT this is my #1 most-asked question these days so I absolutely need to make it happen. In the meantime, my friend Grace has some fantastic ideas in this blog post series!
Q: How often do you go to Disney? Are you pass holders? Is it worth it?
We go about once a month. Sometimes more. Sometimes less. We are pass holders and for us, it’s 100% worth it! Pearce doesn’t come with us every time. He actually hasn’t been with us since November! So we’re excited he’ll be with us this weekend. I took the girls solo in Jan + went on a girls trip. Next month the girls and I will be there with my grandmother and cousin!
Q: What’s the most important thing to look for in a resort? So many options!
Transportation options! Look at the parks you want to visit most and see which hotels have boat, monorail or skyliner access to those parks. Next, I typically look at access to good dining options because we’re food people.
If you’re taking a longer trip space may be your biggest concern! We love the big rooms at Old Key West!
Q: How was your solo trip?! So brave! Please share tips!
Also on my “need to write about asap” list! I have a lot of thoughts to share. It was one of my all-time favorite Disney days and I’m so proud of us for doing it. Hoping to do many more!
Q: Favorite Magic Kingdom quick service restaurant?
There are no spectacular quick-service restaurant options at MK. I always try to make a sit-down reservation so we can enjoy a decent meal. Columbia Harbor House, Pinnochio’s, and Peco’s Bill are my picks if we need quick-service food. Avoid MK hot dogs at all costs no matter what they tell you. They make me sick every time. Love Skipper’s Canteen, Be Our Guest, and The Plaza Restaurant if you can snag a reservation. You can also hop on the monorail and visit the Contemporary, The Grand Floridian, or The Polynesian for much better dining options on your MK day!
Q: What was the site you shared to get dining reservations?
I’ve had the best luck with Mouse Dining lately! Signed up for their $9 membership option so I could add myself and my husband to text notifications. We got all of the dining reservations we wanted for our trip this weekend!
Q: Do y’all like the swan & dolphin? Hearing mixed reviews!
If you only visit Disney World every few years, this is not my top pick. Because we go so often this is a fantastic fit for us! The theming is not my favorite but the resort has a lot of deluxe resort perks at a lower price point. It’s a Marriot-owned property (not owned by Disney) so as Marriot cardholders we get the Marriot perks here! There are tons of dining options, nice pools and there’s super convenient access to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. You can also walk over to the Boardwalk and Boardwalk resorts for more dining options! Again, we love food so this is a big deal for us.
Q: What shoes should I wear for the parks?
These $15 sandals are my FAVORITE for summer / warm park days. I hate wet sneakers and do not want that kind of tan line, so these are winners. They’re so comfy. For cooler days I’ve been loving my keds!
Q: What type of stroller do you bring with you?
I bring my Zoe Double stroller and I am obsessed with it. Lightweight, ADA approved, pink (because…. why not?!) and great quality. 10/10 recommend all things zoe. Not sponsored, just a big fan! ๐
Q: Epcot or AK with kids?!
It depends on what your kids are into but I will almost always say Epcot! AK doesn’t have a lot to offer my girls right now (they’re 1 & 3) because of shows and certain rides that aren’t operating. My girls love Epcot! Plenty of room to roam and so much to explore. The character sightings are awesome and outdoors with no lines. There are several fun rides they enjoy and it’s just beautiful! We could spend all day in the Nemo aquarium alone!
