We’re still in the mountains making the most of our Asheville hurrication but in all honesty, I’m in a funk today. I’m all of a sudden crazy homesick. But at the same time I’m feeling incredibly blessed and thankful that our loved ones are safe, our home is in good shape so hopefully construction will speed up again soon, and we’ve had a wonderful weekend in the mountains. Praying for our friends in South Florida that lost so much and those in our own hometown that have to deal with the aftermath of Irma. So many were forced to evacuate last week and they’re not sure what they’ll be returning home to. The anxiety is real. The fear of the unknown. The helpless feeling of having no control when so much is at stake. I hate that my neighbors, friends, and fellow Floridians have to go through that. It makes my heart ache so much more for those who have a long road ahead of them recovering from hurricane Harvey. A blog friend of mine in Houston shared a video this morning of her neighborhood, still flooded, SO many homes ruined, and her neighbors trying to make the best of a nasty situation. We need to keep praying for those impacted by these storms. Those in the islands, those in Florida, those in Texas, our brothers and sisters running from dangerous fires. We have to keep praying. This verse made me smile big this morning and wiped away so much of the anxiety I was feeling, “Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed. Then they were glad that the waters were quiet, and he brought them to their desired haven.” Psalm 107:28-31. I’m currently rounding up a few ways we can help those impacted by Harvey and Irma. I’ll be sharing those with y’all soon!
On a much lighter note – we’ve had a blast this weekend in the mountains! It’s been such a treat to enjoy this place with my sweet hubby. I’m very thankful we made the decision to leave and enjoy a few days of fun. The weather has been AMAZING (it was in the high 80’s when we left FL!) so I’ve had a chance to wear a few outfits I can’t get away with in NE Florida right now. Happy girl, right here!
I paired this j.crew top I just got in with a pair of well-loved hunter boots and a white utility jacket (sold out – similar here!) I’m such a fashion rule breaker when it comes to the crazy “no white after labor day” nonsense. White is always okay in my book. Always. Okay, except if you’re a guest at a wedding – let the bride have her day y’all! Back to the top, I may or may not have worn it two days in a row…. It’s a very feminine fit with a playful stripe combo that I adore!
