It’s a hard day for Americans. It’s a hard day to watch the news. There have been so many days like this one over the past 12 months and it’s all heavy. It wears on us and we try to find words to share but those words are hard to come by.
A sentiment that always brings me peace when I feel small and helpless watching the news…
“Your success as a family… our success as a nation… depends not on what happens inside the White House, but on what happens inside your house. ”
― Barbara Bush
2021 will be my year to focus on us. On our family unit. On what I can control. I will continue to pray for our government and our country but instead of being consumed by heartbreak, I will be consumed with love for my family and the powerful work God can do through me here at HOME.
Home is so much more than the physical walls, home is a heartbeat. Home is a culture. As a wife and mama, I get to decide what the environment in my home looks and feels like. I get to pick and choose what comes in and what goes out. In practical terms, I get to hit the power button when the news is just too hard to watch. I get to turn the worship music up instead.
When it’s all just too much, I give it to God and I focus on home.
This year on the blog I want to shift gears a bit to share all things house and HOME, my true passions. I can’t wait to dive deeper into both of these topics and I hope you’ll welcome the change.
My people will abide in a peaceful habitation, in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places. Isaiah 32:18
