Hey, hey, hey! Hope y’all managed to squeeze in a little rest this weekend. I sure didn’t! This was my first weekend in a long time without my handsome man beside me. Bittersweet for sure. I drove up to the island to visit with family and to move more of our furniture up. I couldn’t imagine spending the week in our lonely apartment all by myself. It seems we always come up here with the intention of relaxing a bit but that never seems to happen. Too many people to see, too little time!
For those wondering, Pearce is having a blast in Peru! Praise the Lord for wifi connections and Facebook chat. I’ve gotten to talk with him everyday so far and he’s been able to message me photos + videos to share with family. Looking forward to picking him up from the airport on Wednesday!
I walked through the new house several times this weekend. Here’s a closeup from the image I posted to IG last week. The Carrara Marble + Subway Tile combo is my favorite. Can’t wait to get in here and start decorating! Like literally, can’t wait. Patience is running thin these days. Thankfully, I had a chance to show my mom, dad, grandma, mother-in-law and little brother the progress!
Saturday we drove up to Savannah for my best friend, Catie’s birthday. It’s a quick trip (under two hours) and well worth it! Savannah will always be one of my favorite Southern cities. Come back next week for a full recap + tips on how to do it all in a day. I’m currently brainstorming ways to burn off the calories we consumed… #WafflesAlwaysWin
Our favorite shop of the day was Emily McCarthy’s new place on Abercorn Street. I’ve been a fan of her work for years! I couldn’t leave Savannah without stopping by to thank her in person for a blog interview she did for me last year. She so graciously dropped what she was working on to chat for a bit. I picked up a few fun pieces for the house and was pleased as punch to find a ceramic white pineapple to replace the one Pearce dropped a few months back. I’m sure many of you remember my instagram saga about the incident. I’m a bit dramatic. 😉
What were y’all up to this weekend?
