Spring cleaning is here and the timing couldn’t be more perfect…
I’ll confess a dirty little secret with y’all… my house is a hot mess. The cleaning bug couldn’t have come at a better time! At the beginning of February we listed our house on the market and had the place in military style, tip-top shape for the first week of showings. SO. MANY. SHOWINGS. I was waking up extra early to run through my checklist in hopes that picking up socks and making sure the sink was empty would woo a perspective buyer into making an offer. While it was slightly overwhelming having to keep our house SO stinkin’ clean, it was also really nice to come home to a perfectly put together house. Thankfully we had a great offer about a week after listing and we didn’t have to show anymore! Since then we’ve been ridiculously busy and neglected a few household chores. I’m so ready to get this house back in show-worthy shape with a week of Spring cleaning, decluttering, and organizing! Thankfully, Lemi Shine sent over a few of their new cleaning products for me to try and I’m already hooked!
I’d LOVE to spend a full day plowing through a professionally designed checklist but as I mentioned, we’re extremely busy. I don’t have a single free Saturday on the calendar for the remainder of Spring. So, with the help of Lemi Shine, I’m dividing up my Spring Cleaning list into 5 weekday evenings. I thought it’d be helpful to share my Spring Cleaning plan for those of you who are busy like us! How do you tackle Spring cleaning?
Editors note: I got a little excited and started using my new Lemi Shine products prior to the big Spring Clean. They’re amazing! I really like them all, especially the dishwasher cleaner, disposal cleaner, and washing machine cleaner! Such handy products to take Spring Cleaning to a whole-nother-level. ๐
^^^ how pretty are these bottles?! I couldn’t resist snapping a few pics as soon as they arrived in the mail!!!!
Sorry y’all… back to the master plan!
Day One // Bathrooms
Vacuum and mop floors, wipe down windows and baseboards, wash bath mats & shower curtains, spray & soak surfaces, clean tubs + showers, clean mirrors, toss old toiletries + replace as needed.
Day Two // Bedrooms + Office
Vacuum floors, wipe down baseboards and windows, dust surfaces and fixtures, open all windows, wash drapes, linens and sheets, shampoo carpets and rugs as needed, declutter closets and drawers (aka – donate or toss unnecessary items)
Day Three // Family Room
Vacuum + mop floors, open all windows, wash drapes, wipe down baseboards and windows, shampoo rugs as needed, dust surfaces and fixtures, clean glass surfaces, declutter drawers and closets.
Day four // Kitchen
Vacuum + mop floors, open all windows, wipe down baseboards and windows, wash and air dry kitchen rugs, dust surfaces and fixtures, declutter pantry, cabinets, closets and drawers (aka – donate or toss unnecessary items), clean fridge + freezer, degrease cooking appliances. I’ll also be cleaning my dishwasher for the first time ever (should I be embarrassed to admit that?) using Lemi Shine’s Dishwasher Cleaner!
Day five // Garage + Donation Drop Off
This is a big one for us! For our garage deep cleaning, the first thing we’ll need to do is take a trip to a local donation drop-off or better yet, schedule a pickup from a local resale/thrift business! (If you’re local, we love Barnabas!) Then we’ll need to get a few boxes into the attic (I’m looking at you, Christmas decor!) and finally we’ll be able to clean and rearrange a few things to make this space functional.
I can’t wait to tackle my Spring Cleaning list with the help of Lemi Shine! Their bright and cheery new branding is beautiful but more importantly, their products are safe + powerful which is exactly what I look for in my cleaning products (and honestly, not as easy as you’d think to find)!
I highly suggest y’all visit Lemi Shine’s website to learn more about their products AND snag a discount via their “coupons” page!xo, mckenzie
