As most of my readers know, I’m not usually a fall person and this year I was especially sad about my favorite season coming to an end and all this hype about “sweater weather” really had me down. Well, a recent trip to target flipped a switch and I’m officially embracing all things pumpkin and looking forward to the few days of cooler weather us Floridians get to bust out the boots for. If you’re not quite feeling it this season, I encourage you to grab a PSL and meander the aisles of your local target. I also encourage you to leave your wallet in the car because EVERYTHING from entertaining supplies to bakery treats will catch your eye. Luhhhh you, target! Anywho… I was inspired to make like eight fall food and drink recipes this week so here’s the first. Warning: you will not want to share with other folks in your household so maybe consider doubling the recipe! 😉
Supplies:
– Sprinkles
– 1 Jar Nutella
– Honey
– 4 Cups Whole Milk
– 1/2 Cup Nutella
– Oversized marshmallows (or the itty bitty one’s if you’d prefer!)
First things first. Shake those sprinkles (like a polaroid picture) onto a plate – be sure to fill that bad boy up with enough sprinkles to dip the entire rim of your mug.
Next up. “Paint” honey onto the rim of your mug with a small brush or cotton swab. Be careful with this one – anywhere the honey lies, there too will be sprinkles. Once you’ve painted your rim, dip the mug into the sprinkles, roll around for complete coverage, and wah-lah – you now have a festive mug ready to be filled with chocolatey goodness. The sprinkles stick surprisingly well onto the honey, so don’t worry about making a mess!
Now for the good stuff. My favorite part of the recipe is that it’s nearly as easy as microwave hot chocolate and a thousand times better.
To make this tasty concoction –
- Warm 4 cups whole milk on the stove. Throw in 1/2 cup of Nutella and mix it in with a whisk. Heat the mixture on medium/high heat until it bubbles.
- Pour into your fancy mugs and garnish with marshmallows.
- Enjoy!
Hope y’all love this recipe as much as I did!
