I have a love/hate relationship with taking summers off from blogging. Love having one less thing on my plate during the summer so that I can play hard but there’s always so much to catch y’all up on! So stay tuned for lots of house projects, fun trips, summer adventures and little girl happenings!
The girls started back at their favorite preschool this week. Y’all might remember we started last year out with preschool at home for the first few months. We were loving it but one day I took the girls to childcare while I attended a MOPS meeting at a church in our neighborhood. I had the best feeling about the little school and the Lord put it on my heart to inquire about openings. They were of course all booked up but SO SO kind to make room for Millie and Alba Grace. I missed my buddies but it ended up being such a blessing! We met so many neighbors and new friends. Perfect way to get plugged into our new community. So we’re back again this year! Millie is in the 2’s class and Alba Grace is in the 4’s. We’re still deciding if we’ll start homeschool with AG next year or give her one more year of preschool fun. Both girls have summer birthdays so we can go either way!
I’m becoming a freak about systems and routines in our house to help control the chaos! We’re doing a few new things this year to help simplify our school days:
- Sunday Prepping: I’m getting outfits ready for myself and the girls as well as prepping lunches for the entire week! Last week I only prepped for the girls (10 lunches!) but I’ll ease into prepping mine as well. These bento boxes have made the meal prep easy peasy!
- Backpack Spot: The girls put their shoes in a basket by the door when we come in from pickup. I’m going to have them hang their backpacks on their hooks as well so we’re not hunting them down every morning!
- Teacher Communication: I printed the Fernandina Paper Co. “from the mom of” notepads to send quick notes to school as needed! Tucked the notepad into my desk drawer for easy access.
- Daily Chore Chart & Fridge Command Center: I turned our fridge into a command center with the girls reward charts, a daily chore chart for AG, a weekly meal plan and our weekly schedule. Also posting our monthly memory verse here! All using Paper Co printables! Shared more about that in this reel and over on this highlight!
- Art Wall: We have SO much art that comes into our home. I can’t bring myself to throw any of it away just yet so I’m displaying it in the playroom in these frames and on these clips. Ps. I love my friend Katie’s art book idea if you need a space saving idea!
- Car Stash: Extra shoes, hair ties, bows, bloomers, and snacks are in the car and ready to go just in case we forget something at home. Really not a huge issue since the school is right down the street BUT I’ll do anything to save a couple of minutes!
- Daily Tasks: I’m going all in on trying to balance my work/life rhythms now that the girls are back in school for a couple of hours each day. Having a big task to tackle each day (For example: Monday – Product Launch, Tuesday – MOPS/ Junior League & Kid Activities, Wednesday – Blog, Thursday – Clean Car / House Reset, Friday – Grocery Run & Meal Plan) helps me feel accomplished without getting overwhelmed by a to-do list and helps when it comes to making plans for things that might come up! Anything that takes up less brain space is a win for me.
- Simplifying Shoes: I love to coordinate shoes with outfits but in an effort to simplify this year I ordered these cute shoes that will go with just about every outfit the girls have. And they can put them on by themselves!
Rounded up some of our favorite preschool goodies for y’all just in case you’re squeezing in some last minute shopping! I don’t know about you but I find tiny school supplies and accessories especially darling! ๐

Do y’all have littles going back to school or starting school this month? I know most of our friends up north don’t even have BTS on the radar yet!
