Hope y’all are having an awesome week! Everyday truly feels like the weekend for us right now as we’re soaking up my maternity leave and Pearce’s summer break (he’s a teacher). We’re so thankful for time off together as we adjust to life as a family of three!
We loved celebrating Pearce’s first father’s day with a trip to visit my nana & papa and then AG’s geesh and papa. We ate the yummiest lunch (bbq and mac + cheese for the win!), passed baby girl around for lots of snuggles (she loves sleeping in your arms!) and enjoyed a little sunshine in nana & papa’s backyard.
Had lots of questions about AG’s bubble on Insta. This pattern is no longer available but I love this print in the same style. For size reference – It’s still a little big (at 7.8 lbs) but she’s wearing the smallest size available. Poor thing barely has anything to wear in the NB size. Everyone told me not to buy NB because they outgrow it so fast. Next baby I’ll definitely pick up a few more teeny tiny outfits for those first few weeks!
The next day we celebrated my first birthday as a mama. It was definitely the sweetest bday yet! Loved waking up to my angel baby’s cuddles. Couldn’t have asked for a better gift. For breakfast mama requested a drive to Starbucks & Panera (so good to get out of the house two days in a row, even though I haven’t necessarily felt like doing much of anything)! I also got out for my first postpartum mani + pedi. It’s amazing what some fresh polish and a cold brew cappuccino can do for you. Felt like a new woman! That night we had my family over for the tastiest steak dinner complete with baked potatoes, asparagus, a delicious cheese board, and of course, Krispy Kreme donuts! We ended the evening with a hilarious game of headbands and a little little living room karaoke!
Lots of questions about my dress, you can find it here! For reference, I’m wearing a S/M. It was way to short to wear while pregnant, but fit well a few days after I had Alba Grace.
After a big weekend packed full of celebrations, we were back at the hospital for AG’s first baby modeling gig! Never too early, haha. Our hospital invited AG and I to pose for a photoshoot for their labor & delivery marketing purposes. Daddy popped in for a few photos too! It was funny to be back in a hospital gown, reenacting those first few moments after baby girl’s arrival. The nurse who helped deliver AG happened to be working that day, so they invited her back for the shoot as well. This time around baby girl was a few lbs heavier, mama bear had a full face of makeup on and I’d actually slept the night before. Let’s just say this was not how things actually went down, haha. Y’all be sure to let us know if you see the photos around town, on a commercial, or on a billboard as you’re driving down 95. We’d love to see where they end up!
love y’all, mckenzie
