Happy Labor Day! I hope y’all are enjoying your long weekend and squeezing as much fun & rest into it as possible. I’m feeling a little under the weather after yesterday’s boating adventure (did you catch a glimpse on Instagram?!) but thankfully I married the sweetest man ever so he’s taking really good care of me. It’s the little things that make me truly grateful for our marriage.
Before our wedding a sweet friend gifted us a picnic basket and I think it might have been my favorite gift of all! I love a good picnic on the beach, by the water, or in the park! It’s my absolute favorite date idea. We’re definitely purchasing an outdoor dining set as soon as our house is built so we can have dinner al fresco on the nightly. Sooo romantic!
A few tips from our adventures in picnicking:
1. Find the perfect location. Don’t mind a crowd? Try a park on the weekends. Looking for something a bit more secluded? Do a little research before you pack your lunch!
2. Make a list and check it twice. Nothing’s worse than forgetting an important piece of your picnic and not realizing it until you’ve unpacked!
3. Try new things but include some favorites! Trying new things is great but be sure to include a few of your favorite food/drink choices as well. This way you you’ll have something to fall back on if that new cheese isn’t to your liking! For my birthday picnic we included a few of my all time faves (think fried chicken) but opted for new macaron flavors to spice things up a bit.
4. Pack the bug spray! Nothing’s worse than surprise visitors during a picnic!
