thanks to the Omni Amelia Island Plantation for sponsoring this post! xo
Pearce and I recently spent a wonderful weekend at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation creating memories and taking in the property in a whole new way. The resort holds a very special place in my heart.
The Amelia Island Plantation is honestly the longest “home” I’ve known – my grandparents have lived here all of my life, it was the setting for the best day ever (aka our wedding) and where maaaany of my favorite childhood memories took place. There’s really no place like it. Experiencing the resort as a guest of the hotel was a very special treat. Definitely the most convenient vacation we’ve ever had! Can’t beat the 10 minute trip there and back, haha! Our staycation was the perfect romantic getaway – we’ve been so busy from moving and getting into new schedules it was so good to head down the street for a few days and escape it all.
If you’re planning a trip to the Omni Amelia Island Plantation, get excited. The moment you walk in through the lobby you’ll be transported into a vacation wonderland you’ll want to write home about! The resort recently underwent a HUUUGE renovation so there’s plenty of coastal charm and luxurious amenities for you and your boo or your entire family! The resort has a little somethin’ somethin’ for everyone. While it’s great for families, it’s still cozy and romantic enough for a couples retreat.
a little recap of our weekend staycation…
friday
Friday night I drove over to the resort after work (it took all of 3 minutes to get there, haha!) and immediately checked in to our room. After a little freshening up I walked down to the pool, grabbed a treat (because how else does one start a vacay?!) and enjoyed our amazing balcony until Pearce arrived. Naturally when Pearce showed up he was starving so we ordered up room service. While our food was being prepared we took a quick walk, enjoyed the firepit (favorite addition from the hotel renovation!), and soaked up the ocean breeze. Dinner was amazing! Along with our meal we had not one but TWO delicious cheese spreads. I was on cloud nine, y’all. It was the perfect low-key Friday night. The best way to kick off our weekend!
saturday
Saturday morning Pearce and I slept in a bit (I blame the cozy sheets!) then walked over to Marche Burette for breakfast. I frequent Marche for lunch throughout the week – such a fun spot! It’s always reminded me of they type of general store/cafe you’d find in South Carolina. There’s actually a full restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. They host special events every weekend, definitely worth checking out if you visit. The Shrimp Boil is my favorite!
After breakfast we scurried on over to the adult pool (the resort has three pools – one for families, one for adults, and a toddler/baby pool) snagged two chairs and then I immediately put in an order for fish tacos. I know what you’re thinking… didn’t you just eat breakfast? Yes. Yes I did. BUT the poolside fish tacos are out of this world. I started dreaming about them the second the Omni invited us to visit!
After a morning at the pool I had a much anticipated spa appointment. I wasn’t sure how I was going to get over to the spa because I really wasn’t in the mood for walking. Then I remember my beloved tram service. Guests and residents staying on property have access to a complimentary tram that can take them anywhere on the resort. As a kiddo the tram was my favorite method of transportation for adventuring. Unfortunately the tram was running a bit behind so the NICEST hotel staff member offered me a ride over to the spa via golf cart. The team members at the resort went out of their way to make our experience a great one. We’re so appreciative! I made it to the spa just in time for my appointment with Elizabeth. I knew the treatment would be good (I mean, it’s a SPAAAA!) but I had no idea how good. It was honestly the best massage I’ve ever had. While I was enjoying a little pampering Pearce was playing his best round of golf in awhile at the Oak Marsh course. He had a blast! It was the perfect morning to enjoy a little alone time – just enough to miss each other again, haha!
That afternoon we enjoyed more of the gorgeous sunshine! Lounging poolside might just be my favorite hobby. That counts as a hobby, right?! To make a sweet afternoon even sweeter I curled up in our room and took a nap. Thank you, Jesus!
Next up, dinner. We had a 7pm reservation at the Verandah. We couldn’t wait to get dressed up and try out the new menu. The Verandah features fresh seafood and delicious southern-fare. Offering a selection of fresh caught fish and locally farmed flavors, the Verandah was the highlight of the weekend! A few of our favorites from the menu: deviled eggs (neither of us are typically deviled egg fans but when the chef brought these out for us to try we were shocked by how yummy they were!), east coast baked oysters, and the seafood carbonara. So impressed by everything we tasted! We can’t wait to go back, worth every pound I gained! 😉
After dinner we met up with a couple we befriended earlier in the day and enjoyed chatting poolside over drinks. There’s a multitude of dining and lounge options throughout the property. There’s always somewhere different to sit and enjoy a drink or to grab a bite to eat. I kept thinking “this is our spot” and then finding something even better within the hour!
sunday
Sunday, Funday! After a lazy morning in our room, we enjoyed breakfast outside thanks to the Seaglass Lounge. It was yummy but I wish we would have ventured over to the Sunrise Cafe instead, as I’d heard rave reviews before our stay. Next time, for sure! The weather wasn’t as pretty as we’d hoped it would be but that didn’t stop us from enjoying the beach. The hotel set us up with an umbrella and chairs all weekend – makes going back and forth between the pool and beach so much easier! Despite the crazy winds and dreary weather, it was a sweet way to end a fun weekend!

Such a sweet weekend with my cute hubby! I hope you get a chance to enjoy the Omni Amelia Island Plantation with your best guy. It’ll be one for the books!
