I cannot believe it’s been a year since I signed on as a Beautycounter consultant. Beautycounter has been a part of my daily routine for the last few years but the timing didn’t feel right to sign on as a consultant until September of last year! Looking back, I’m so grateful I said yes when I did! It’s been a huge blessing to our family and SO much fun!
I wanted to take a minute to thank you all for your support this year and share a bit about what it looks like to serve as a consultant!
At first I shied away from the “business” side of BC, partly because I just didn’t have the time for a new endeavor and partly because I was nervous. Nervous?! It’s hard to explain but I was a bit worried to tell friends and family because I never in a million years wanted anyone to feel like they had to buy anything from me. But BC is different and I quickly realized that once I became a consultant. It’s not about selling makeup and skincare. It’s about educating friends and family about safer personal care products and then sharing clean beauty line that actually works! It’s that simple.
Toxic products are the norm in our culture and I’m just not okay with that. As the gatekeeper of our home, it’s my job to make sure the products we’re using aren’t harmful. I raise awareness, spread information, and help clients choose products that are not only safer, but also exactly what they need. Skincare and makeup is FUN but the education side of the business is what fires me up.
So what does the life of a Beautycounter consultant look like?
Whatever the heck you want it to! While I always encourage new consultants that join my team to explore it all – everyone seems to find their “thing” and stick to it. In this season of life, I share about Beautycounter on social media, here on the blog, through monthly newsletters, by sending out samples and in conversations with family and friends. Some consultants host in-person events. Some love setting up pop-ups at local businesses. Some consultants host parties in their homes or their friend’s homes. There are so many ways to run your business. Some ladies work their businesses full time, others rock it in the carpool line and in little pockets of their day! I love the flexibility! In this busy busy season of life as a new mama, it’s been amazing to make an income doing something I love while never having to miss out. In addition to talking about Beautycounter and helping clients find what works for them, I spend time educating myself. Beautycounter has an amazing training portal for consultants with tons of resources and information. Beautycounter corporate has done an exceptional job providing consultants with everything we need to thrive. I also learn from the amazing community of consultants! Working alongside like-minded women has been my favorite part of the job! I especially enjoy that so many consultants are also mamas and totally get where my heart is. 🙂
