I love having a sparkling clean home but don’t love the idea of bringing toxic chemicals into our house! Nearly 5 years ago I started swapping out our cleaning supplies for safer options! I found that it would definitely take some trial and error to find products that were safer and high performing!
Did y’all know that cleaning product manufacturers are not required to list all of the ingredients on the packaging?! That sure does make it very confusing and misleading when looking for a safe product for your fam. I use the EWG website and app to search product before I buy them! It’s such a great resource!

LAUNDRY
Molly’s Suds Laundry Powder – This is a great gentle product to use on baby items!
Molly’s Suds Oxygen Whitener – This is a safe alternative to oxyclean! I use it on products I’d typically want to bleach.
Seventh Generation Laundry Detergent – If you don’t mind liquid detergent, this one has a decent rating, can be purchased at Target or on Amazon (also available via subscribe and save!) and in my opinion it works well on difficult laundry like soiled or dirty items!
Branch Basics Laundry Kit – If you’ve ever wanted to give BB a try, I’d start with this set! They sent over product for me to try and their laundry products have been my favorite! They offer a concentrate that you can mix for a laundry solution and they have an oxygen whitening powder! Definitely a $$$ saver!
Wool Dryer Balls – I had no idea how dangerous dryer sheets were until my friends started talking about why they had switched to wool dryer balls! I ordered them immediately and have really likes using them! You can add a drop or two of essential oil (love this one!) for a natural fragrance.
KITCHEN
Thieves – I am thieves obsessed and if you’ve been following along for a while now, you probably already knew it! I use the thieves concentrate as my multi purpose cleaner! A little bit goes a LONG way so don’t let the price tag turn you off. FYI – you’ll need this bottle to make your concoction in. I also use thieves to clean bathrooms because it kills germs! Did I mention that the smell is heavenly?!
Seventh Generation Dish Detergent – I’m still not 100% convinced that I’ll ever find the perfect dish detergent but after trying nearly a dozen non-toxic options, this one is my favorite!
Sponges – Sponges gross me out and I throw them away alllll the time. Anyone else?! Ew. If you too can appreciate a good lookin’ (aka – not neon green) organic sponge at a decent price, these are for you!
ETC.
Seventh Generation Glass Cleaner – Awesome for mirrors and windows but I also use on my glass cooktop because there aren’t any harsh chemicals to worry about!
Seventh Generation Wipes – I like to keep these handy for quick cleanups in bathrooms and around the house! I use them for wiping surfaces, toys, etc. Also great to keep in the car!
Seventh Generation Toilet Bowl Cleaner – I always buy the unscented items with Seventh Gen, FYI. In my opinion this toilet bowl cleaner works well… but I should mention that our toilets are fairly new!
