Over five years into this blogging thing and I still catch myself doing things that surprise me and challenge me. I remember when I felt super strange and awkward sharing my bathroom makeover online. Definitely didn’t think I’d ever be sharing potty pics here on the web! Now here I am tackling another hurdle and sharing swimsuit pics (postpartum swimsuit pics at that!) but it’s for the greater good. I’ve found a few swimsuit styles that I feel super confident in and I wanted to share those with y’all!
My mama swimsuit requirements are as follows:
Must cover the lower part of my belly, must provide good coverage up top, must not feel like it’s falling off or can easily be ripped off (thanks, AG) while swimming, must provide enough support for me to feel comfortable running or chasing child, must cover my rear (why do most swimsuits not do that these days?!), and last but not least… must not feature a strange crisscross design that could lead to super strange tan lines! Is that really too much to ask for?!
MY #1 PICK
This swimsuit shown above is a *steal* at under $40. It’s been with me for two seasons now and I feel mega confident in it (okay… mega might be a stretch in any swimsuit right now but I digress!) The slight rouching on the belly + pretty ruffle up top that continues on the back, and the color make it the winner!

I’m so sad to report that this one in blue is only available in two sizes right now… so if you don’t see your size I’d consider the pink, and this blue and red combo! The giant ruffle feels super stylish, the material is thick and feels like very nice quality, and the seersucker is darling! It matches this baby girl swimsuit and these sweet swim trunks for boys. Definitely a mama must have!
OTHER CONTENDERS
I just ordered this top and this high waisted bottom (both currently 50% off!) for our beach trip (because you can never have too many suits on a beach trip!) and I can’t wait to try it on! Based on the reviews I think this suit and everything else below would pass my mama swim test!
