So many of y’all have asked for a home tour here on the blog, but the truth of the matter is that regardless of how hard we work on the weekends there’s still SOOO much to be done before we’re “home tour” ready. Haha! But I thought I’d give y’all a little preview of projects we’re working on, as we’re finishing them up. One space that I’m trying to finish up right away is our formal living room.
We’ve created a more lounge-like living space in the guest suite upstairs (perfect for watching movies and making a mess!) but still want to make our downstairs formal living space feel cozy and approachable. No matter how hard I try I can’t seem to get away from throwing a little blue into every room I design! It’s my favorite accent color so I know I’ll never tire of it.
This room was built entirely around one of my favorite coffee tables. I ordered this beauty back in July and didn’t receive it until a couple of weeks ago but let me tell y’all, it was so worth the wait! I can’t get over how pretty it is. We selected this piece for a client last year so thankfully I was able to see it in person prior to ordering. I waited and waited until it went on super sale and then I pulled the trigger. Once I decided on that piece I had no trouble finding accessories to coordinate and bring my vision to life. I love how timeless the furniture selections are (plan on keeping them for a loooong time!) and adore the trendier accents that can easily be changed out over time. The only thing we still haven’t decided on is the sofa. I definitely want a white slipcovered piece with a casual coastal silhouette. We may just purchase this inexpensive sofa (it fits the bill!) and use it for a while until we find the perfect one. I hate to spend a ton of money on a piece that I don’t absolutely love and I also hate the idea of buying a sofa that AG can’t climb on out of fear she’ll damage it. Tis the season for baby-friendly furniture I suppose.
Let’s talk about my next favorite thing in the room – the spool chairs. I’ve always adored the design of these but honestly thought we’d have to wait years before we could afford a pair. Luckily I stumbled upon the Henderson Arm Chair and found a fabric (Cruise Adrift) and finish (ivory) I loved! You can order samples for free prior to making your fabric decision, which I highly recommend!
I’m so excited to get this room wrapped up and share the end result with y’all! Stay tuned! In the meantime, you can shop everything pictured at the links below. Some affiliate links used.
