Now that’s a catchy post title isn’t it?! Haha! I gained a looooot of weight while pregnant with AG (not complaining, just sharing the facts!) and at some point during my pregnancy I made a decision to try to get back to my pre-baby weight before she turned one. I know some women could care less about getting back to a number on the scale and other women have bigger goals for themselves and a shorter timeframe to accomplish them. And to that I say… you do you sistah! I think that’s fantastic. In the months following AG’s birth I lost a lot of the weight I had gained. Nursing worked wonders for me! But then around month 4 I got really sick, lost my milk and we had to start AG on formula. That’s a story for another day but it meant that I was no longer shedding pounds like I had been. It was discouraging and I knew if I wanted to meet my goal (getting back to pre-baby weight by AG’s first birthday) then I needed an action plan.
Enter, Quincy Burgess. This darling gal reached out to me in December inviting me to join her Faster Way To Fat Loss round starting in January. The timing was PERFECT because I had actually been researching similar programs and the FWTFL kept coming up! I pushed aside any fears I had about the program (i.e. FASTING!) and agreed to commit to the program starting in January!
I wrote this post in January explaining what Faster Way to Fat Loss is and more about why I decided to do it!
I’m thrilled to share that FWTFL worked well for me. It was the right move and i’m so glad I said yes!
Here’s why I’m glad I did it:
- I learned so much about nutrition. Terms like “macros”, “carb cycling” and “intermittent fasting” no longer sound so scary and intimidating!
- I lost weight! I actually lost weight! It really worked haha! I’m SO close to my pre-baby weight and I wasn’t even focusing on the workouts!
- It’s such an easy lifestyle change. Because I wasn’t cutting anything out of my diet completely, it was an easy shift and felt very doable! I had just come off of Paleo when I started FWTFL and couldn’t believe how much easier FWTFL was than Whole 30 or Paleo.
- It got me in the habit of using My Fitness Pal and tracking what I’m eating throughout the day. Such a good habit to be in!
- I learned that many of the foods I thought were good for me, were not. And many of the foods I ate to lose weight were sadly NOT helping me lose weight!
So what will you do now that your first round is over? I’m planning to keep on keepin’ on. I have a few more lbs to lose to get back to my pre-baby weight and I plan to use the tools I learned and the diet plan provided by FWTFL in order to get there! I will keep recording my food, carb cycling, and intermittent fasting! Like I said, it’s a lifestyle change.
Do you have to join a round to do FWTFL? Yes! I would never have been able to do this on my own. The accountability your coach and group provides is SO valuable. You’ll also have a billion questions when you get started. There’s a lot to learn, which is why you need a coach! It’s also fun to see how everyone else is doing, share recipes, and talk about your struggles!
I’m so excited to have found FWTFL! You’ve heard so many people raving about it because it really is that good! If you’re interested in joining, my coach Quincy has a round starting on March 25th! She’s hilarious, inspiring, and passionate! Couldn’t have asked for a sweeter coach to help me along the way! You can sign up for Quincy’s next round here!
Ps. I ended up breaking my foot a few days before our round ended. So… no cute before and after pics for you because scooter pics ain’t cute! ๐
Y’all let me know if you have any questions at all! I’d be happy to help answer them!
love y’all! mckenzie
