Wow! I still can’t believe that we purchased this fixer-upper, renovated this fixer-upper, sold this fixer upper, started a new business, and added a baby to our fam in such a short period of time. It was a WILD ride but we’re thankful we did it! We learned SO much. We cried a lot. We learned about ourselves. We put our blood, sweat and tears into this house and while we were glad to call it ours for some time, we’re so happy to have “finished” the project and passed the keys to new owners!
Kitchen DIY
We spent a good bit of our renovation budget on bathroom renos, paint, materials, electrical, and some drywall reworking to make the space functional for our family. So when it came time to tackle the kitchen project we were at the point where we realized the house just wasn’t big enough for our family and we needed to flip it, we decided to tackle the kitchen reno ourselves. We hired out help to install a new sink and faucet (plumbing wasn’t something we wanted to mess around with!) but handled the rest ourselves. We tore down the existing upper cabinetry and patched all of the walls for a smooth drywall surface. Then we added decorative floating shelves and a freestanding hood! Pearce painted all of the cabinetry himself and I still can’t believe how AMAZING they looked! He used Benjamin Moore Advance Cabinet Paint in BM Blue Porcelain. The project took a few weeks to complete and was extremely tedious, but we saved a ton doing it ourselves.
The project you all asked to know more about was the kitchen countertop refresh. I cannot believe this one! Fun reel here if you want to see the entire process in 60 seconds!! If we purchase another investment property in the future we will 100% try this again! We used Leggari countertop epoxy kits to completely resurface our existing laminate countertops and give them a gorgeous marble/quartz look! The best part?! The kits are well under $1000 so we saved THOUSANDS! Leggari provides everything you need to tackle the project yourselves, even video tutorials and trainings so that you’re well prepared! It took a few days to prep, a few hours to pour and a few days to dry!

BEFORE & AFTER PICS
New paint, flooring, trim, drywall, more paint, shutters, lighting, bath tile, bath layouts, fixtures, landscaping, builtins, and kitchen! What a doozy! But I think it came together in the end! A darling space for the new homeowners to enjoy! ๐ Pretty stinkin’ proud of us (mostly of Pearce!) for making this happen and putting in the hours!
Have you ever thought about tackling a fixer upper?
