We jumped the gun a bit and ordered Millie a big girl bed! Where her crib previously sat we added a second twin bed to the room. This room was made for two (or three… how fun would that be!) twin beds and this is exactly what I envisioned the first time we saw the house. Millie lasted just a few nights in the big girl bed before we stuck the crib against the fireplace and abandoned project big girl bed. She just wasn’t ready, despite her many many requests for “big girl bed” she kept getting out of bed and walking around the room. I love this sweet room so much. Can’t wait to share the rest of the room with you but for now I wanted to go ahead and answer the many questions I received about what’s pictured.
Floral Pillows: These are my favorite thing in the room! When we get the crib out of the corner we’ll move the little seating area back in and cover the cushions in the same fabric. I wanted so badly to paper the entire room in this pattern but could never find an installer. But it all worked out because I love the happy pop on the beds and saved one million dollars so we’re all happy campers. Plus the wallpaper we did go with is pretty perfect for the space!!!! I had these made by Wheaton Whaley and she did a fantastic job!
Bolster Pillows: I grabbed these from Target last year and think they might be the best Target find ever. $15 for a cute gingham bolster. I also have these in the playroom which you’ll get to see later this week. They’re sold out online but definitely check the clearance section at your Target because I still see them (and the blue!) from time to time.
Duvet Set: I learned the hard way that my tiny little people do not need Matouk bedding. So IKEA for the win! I can’t get over how cute this set is. And just $35!!!! Also comes in blue and green so you can make it work for a little boy’s room too. It’s hard to tell but there are tiny pinstripes!
Nightstand: This was an antique we found while living at our last house. Was perfect in their last room so we decided to use it again! Super functional storage-wise and I don’t think it gets more classic than a white wicker dresser. Here’s a similar option on Chairish!
Beds: I adore classic Jenny Lind beds! These are a tad bit lower to the ground than other options I found. Perfect for my two and four year old!
Bed Skirt: Saved so much by purchasing Ikea bedding I decided to splurge on the bed skirts ๐ Love the green scallop trim! Also come in a pretty spa, french blue and classic white!
Wallpaper: Love Vs Design makes the cutest customizable options that you can color match! Read all about our wallpaper selection here!
Drapes: Once again I used my IKEA pinch pleat drapery hack and added trim! Here’s the trim I used in this room.
Curtain Rod: Love the french return style of this rod. Has a bit of a vintage feel. And it’s dirt cheap so that’s a plus! ๐
Scripture Prints & Frames: My friend Christy Britt Designs did the beautiful calligraphy scripture print and I paired it with this frame.
Rug: A rug so nice I bought it twice. I have the same one in the playroom! A great price for such a pretty pattern. I paired with a felt rug pad for extra comfort!
Floral Art Prints: These were a fun TARGET find. I still can’t get over it! They remind of my grandmother’s house which is definitely the vibe we were going for in here. Floral on floral on floral ๐ Ps. They show out of stock online but I just saw them in-store locally!
Lamps: I purchased this set of two. Surely this one will break one day (or maybe it already has….) and I will have a backup! Mom hack. I swapped out the modern shade for a Royal Shades pleated option.
I think that’s everything pictured so far. Will share the rest of the room later this year! ๐
