My absolute favorite thing about living where we live is the close proximity to beautiful beaches! I definitely didn’t appreciate it growing up, now I realize how lucky we are! It’s pretty darn difficult to walk out on the beach with sand beneath your feet and a beautiful ocean before you and still feel anxious or stressed!
Friday we took AG to the southernmost point of the island and due to the chance of rain we pretty much had the place to ourselves! Alba Grace had the best time splashing in the water, building sandcastles, climbing (she’s such a climber!) and playing in the sand pool that Pearce dug out for her. If you don’t feel like digging a hole – my friend Annie from Home of Malones bought one of these for her littles! Genius!
I don’t have a ton of “tips” on beaching with baby, it’s definitely something you learn as you go! And every baby is so different so it’s tough to know what will work for yours! But I will share what pool/beach essentials have worked for us!
FAVORITES
This float was AWESOME when AG was first born. We went to the pool quite a bit last summer when she was just over a month old. Loved that she was fully covered and could still enjoy the water without being completely submerged. Now we use this float!
AG has lots of cute swimsuits but the Beaufort Bonnet & Grace and James swimsuits are my favorite because they button at the bottom for easy diaper changes! Speaking of diapers… we haven’t found a non-toxic swim diaper that works for us so we use these. No complaints! If you have a non-toxic option you like, please send my way! 🙂
This sunscreen is what we’ve always used for Alba Grace. I’ve been loving this one for myself because it provides an instant bronze look! Both nontoxic options and high performing.
I searched high and low for an oversized beach bag that all three of us could use. I love my Hayden Reis bags when it’s just the two of us but it’s so nice to have one giant bag all three of us. I throw EVERYTHING in this Scout 4 Boys Tote!
We purchased AG’s beach toys from the Target dollar spot but I’ve heard wonderful things about these foldable buckets! While we’re talking about Target – that’s where I purchased my beloved beach chair (for just $35!) they’re no longer selling that style but they do have this one! There’s a strap and a pillow! 🙂
