My baby is one! And it’s true what they say… one is the most fun! ๐
I’ve been planning this party for an embarrassingly long amount of time. In fact, I decided on the theme before we even knew our little one’s gender. I adore all things Beatrix Potter and knew I’d be reading these stories to our future baby, boy or girl. Celebrating our little Alba Grace with a Peter Rabbit Garden theme felt so right! And we lucked out with the timing because I was able to snag a ton of easter goodies at a major discount!
A day filled with all of Alba Grace’s favorite people was the very best way to celebrate one! We (mostly me, but Pearce is a great sport!) really wanted a big party for her first, to get everyone that’s helped us raise her this year, together in one place. Family flew in from out of town and almost everyone on the guest list was able to make it out. What a joy! Even a few of Alba Grace’s little baby friends made it out to the “garden.” It’s so hard to get people together these days so it felt extra special having almost all of our loved ones in one place for the party. With that being said… big parties are a ton of work so down the road we’ll likely give AG the option to choose between a party or an adventure! ๐
Details:
We held the party from 12-2 at Drummond Park on the Amelia Island Plantation. It’s a very special place to me and I knew immediately that it was where we should host the party. Gorgeous marsh views, tons of trails, a huge playground for the kiddos… perfection! I also loved that we could have the party under a newly renovated gazebo with ceiling fans. A must in this June heat! I didn’t want any littles getting overheated. Sadly when we arrived to set up the party we couldn’t get the ceiling fans on and the engineering team on property couldn’t either, so they kindly brought us some giant box fans to save the day! PTL. We ate immediately, passed AG around to see her guests, let the littles run around and play, and then opened gifts. AG was much more intrigued by her gifts than I thought she would be! So cute. We saved the cake for later in the afternoon knowing she’d be a hot mess after that. When it was finally time to eat the cake and sing happy birthday she was a bit confused by it all but after a few licks of the frosting she was LOVING it. Definitely my favorite part of the day. I may or may not still watch that video on repeat…
Menu:
For cake we ordered several dozen white frosted cupcakes and a tiny individual smash cake from our local grocery store. So glad we didn’t go overboard in this department. We also served chicken salad chick with croissants, a spinach and artichoke dip out of a lettuce leaf, chickfila chicken nuggets for the kids, annie’s bunnies for the kids, celery and carrots in ranch (served in little garden pots), and rose lemonade! Also kept the cooler stocked with ice cold waters!

For decor I mixed real greenery with faux greenery that I purchased from Hobby Lobby and Target. Eucaplyptus and faux fern! I picked up all of the fresh flowers from Trader Joe’s the day before the party. I also mixed in some faux hobby lobby clippings and fresh carrots. I made the seersucker table runners with fabric I purchased at Hobby Lobby. For favors I individually tied these mini books up with tags I made. I also asked guests to leave Alba Grace a note inside this book. The serving pieces were all things I already own but I tried to link as many as I could in the widget below! Also linked outfit details. AG’s dress is Petite Ami and her pique bib is from the very talented Stitch Able!
