It’s no secret. I’m having a moment with block prints!
I figured not everyone knew the history of block printing so I wanted to share a little backstory (straight from Wikipedia!) ๐
“Woodblock printing or block printing is a technique for printing text, images or patterns used widely throughout East Asia and originating in China in antiquity as a method of printing on textiles and later paper. As a method of printing on cloth, the earliest surviving examples from China date to before 220 AD.”
I can’t say no to a good block print – on linens, clothes, BABY clothes (but what’s not cute in baby sizes?!) and wallpaper too! Feels coastal and tropical but totally classic!
(not linked below: the india amory x smockingbird collection is too good! I picked up sunsuits and bloomers for the girls and keep going back to look at the precious dresses!
