There’s no party like an after party when it comes to Lilly Pulitzer! The biggest sale of the year is officially on the calendar. Lilly lovers everywhere are making game plans and checking them twice. I’ve been shopping the sale for a few years now and have learned a ton through trial and error. Today, I’m sharing a few tips with you ladies so you don’t make the mistakes I did! Let’s do this!
What you need to know:
The sale starts Monday, August 22nd at 8am EDT and ends at 11:55pm EDT on Tuesday, August 23. This is my absolute favorite sale of the year and the discounts are worth every second of the craziness. The site almost always has loading errors, even with the virtual line feature there’s bound to be some sort of website issue. Have patience and be sure to check the Lilly Facebook page if there’s any issue the day of. They’re quick to post updates and even quicker to apologize for the inconvenience. These ladies work hard behind the scenes. Something different about the sale this year is that Lilly will be adding additional items on Tuesday that weren’t online Monday morning. I love that they’re doing this! Alright, ladies set those alarms for Monday morning at 8. Shoot me an email if you have any questions and be sure to check out the tips below!
A few tips to remember:
- Get your essentials and get back in line. Lilly offers free shipping during the sale so you can have multiple orders without any penalty. I suggest grabbing your absolute essentials right away and checking out. Unfortunately items aren’t actually yours until you’ve completed a purchase. So just because your virtual cart is packed full of goodies, doesn’t mean they’re yours. Someone else can complete their order before you and in a sense, snatch items straight from your cart. Be quick with your first order and remember that once you’ve checked out, you’ll be placed at the end of the line to get back on. A line you say? Yep! Lilly has a virtual line the day of the sale so too many people aren’t on the site at once. It can seem a little scary being number 6,987, but don’t panic. There will still be things in stock if you’re shopping early on Monday. This helps avoid a crash and in turn, widespread panic throughout the Lilly world. Ain’t nobody got time for another Lilly for Target fiasco!
- Update your account in advance. This one’s super simple and helps save a ton of time. If you haven’t already, create a Lilly account on LillyPulitzer.com. If you’ve already created an account, login to make sure billing, shipping, and CC info is up to date! Make sure to do this before Monday because the site will not be live a few hours prior to the sale. You can sign into your account the night before and refresh on Monday morning. Just don’t close your browser because you’ll likely lose your spot in line. I can’t stress how important this one is!
- Have multiple devices ready to go. Have more than one device ready to go. If I remember correctly, last year a ton of folks had issues logging in with their computers but had much better luck on their phones. Just in case, have both ready to go!
- Know your size. Lilly sizes vary widely across different styles. Sometimes I’m a 2, sometime’s I’m a 00 and sometimes I prefer a medium. It’s the craziest thing! If you can, pop into a Lilly store prior to the sale and try on a few different styles you’ve had your eye on. Write your sizes down on a note in your phone! If you’re unable to visit a retailer who sells Lilly, you can find the true size and fit on LillyPulitzer.com when you click on an item. Just look in the bottom left for the icon below.
The most important tip: Take a chill pill. Sales are exciting. I know! I’m right there with you sistah. Relax, make sure you’re only purchasing things you actually like (it’s super easy to get a little click crazy and grab whatever you can find!) and remember that it’s okay if you don’t score everything on your list. Have some fun with it. Ps. Set a budget and stick to it!
Happy shopping, friends! Feel free to post any additional tips in the comments below.
