It’s the most wonderful time of the year! I look forward to Christmas shopping so much more now that we have to kiddos to shop for! I’ll be honest though, the first year we shopped for AG I got a little overwhelmed and really didn’t know when to stop shopping, so the past couple of years I’ve started following the “Christmas rule” which is five things for each child. This makes shopping a lot more fun and intentional in my opinion! And helps me spend more time focusing on what the season is all about! Ps. We’re not really into the Santa years yet but in an effort to keep the Christmas season about Jesus and not about Santa, but not totally ignore Santa (parenting is hard, haha!) I’m considering letting Santa bring the stocking stuffers. How does Santa do gift-giving in your house?!
The “5 Things” Christmas Shopping Rule:
- Something They Need
- Something To Wear
- Something To Read
- Something They Want
- Something They Don’t Know They Want!
Sticking to this has been so much fun for us! My girls have very generous grandparents so they do end up with more than five things each year but this is our Christmas morning tradition. I also do a bonus gift which is a piece of a collection for both girls. I gift AG wedgewood pieces (an ornament at Christmas and dishes or trinkets on her birthday) and am thinking of gifting Millie silver each Christmas and birthday.
I put together this year’s gift guides with the Christmas rule in mind. Hope y’all enjoy!!!!
