We did it, y’all! Another year in the books. 2017 was full of ups and downs but as I sit here and reflect on these past 12 months the ups far outweigh the downs. We found out about our baby girl, we moved into our new home, we found a new church home, we took several trips we’ll talk about forever. We also went through a couple of hard things that strengthened and stretched us but we’ll save those stories for another day. I feel unbelievably blessed. I’m totally 100% pumped for 2018. Today definitely felt like a fresh start as we continued to unpack boxes, hang up lights and make our house into our home. I sat down yesterday and thought about a few goals for 2018 that I’d love to see carried out. I’m sharing them with you below in hopes that making them public will hold me accountable to them! Haha. What are y’all’s resolutions for the new year?
Read through the bible.
Many of you reached out about having the same goal this year. I downloaded the 365 Bible In a Year plan through She Reads Truth. I’ve been reading through plans on this app for years and loooove it. Now’s a great time to start the plan if you’re interested!
Take a family vacation.
No destination yet but traveling is something both Pearce and I love doing together so we want to keep it up once Alba Grace is here. I need recommendations! Favorite places to travel with an infant?! I think Montage Palmetto Bluff would be fun! Or maybe a beach trip to Anna Maria or 30A?
Take a mommy & daddy vacation.
Now I know a lot of folks think it’s wild to leave your baby for a weekend and I’m sure it’ll be very hard for us to do once she’s here, but intentionally making time for our marriage is so important to us. I know it’ll make us better parents. Thinking we’ll go to one of our favorites down the road – Savannah maybe? It’s a quick trip which I think will help ease the worrying. Any advice from mama’s out there is welcome!
Launch my secret project.
Keeping it a secret but I can’t wait to share it with y’all!
Blog twice weekly.
I love blogging. It’s a life-giving hobby. I need to do it more. That’s all.
Finish the Fussell Casa.
Our house will always and forever be a work in progress because I absolutely love to decorate (and shop….) but I’d love to “complete” each room to the point where it’s comfortable and able to get lots of use by our little fam. I have plans to share each room with y’all here to document the progress along the way.
Thanks so much for your love and support this year! Y’all are absolutely wonderful! Cheers to 2018!
love y’all, mckenzie
