Blogging makes your weird, doesn’t it?! Never did I ever think I’d share photos of the bathrooms in my home for all of the internet to see. But here we are. Bathrooms exposed.
When Pearce and I found out we were pregnant (and by we I mean I, but he helped too so let’s give credit where credit is due) we made up our minds that we wouldn’t let the baby run the house. We very much admired the Bringing Up Bebe methodology and don’t want our sweet girl growing up entitled or spoiled. I’m currently laughing at us because it’s almost one month until estimated arrival and Alba Grace has her own wing in the house. A whole wing. Not very french of us, but we sure are having fun prepping for her arrival.
Her bathroom is the most accessible guest bathroom when entertaining, so I didn’t want it overly kiddish but still sweet enough for a little girl. We kept the bathroom finishings polished and simple, we plan on selling the house in a few years so we made neutral tile, lighting, wall color, and hardware decisions. My design scheme revolved around the sweet oushak rug I found on Etsy (such a good place to search if you’re in the market!) which is where I pulled the pink & green accents from.
I had an awesome experience working with Peninsula Designs out of Charleston to create this gorgeous custom shower curtain! I’m a huge fan of shower curtains in kid’s baths because I hate clutter. The shower curtain conceals all the bath toys, plastic cups, and not-so-pretty bath mats (it’s amazing how much stuff they collect) while adding pattern and texture to the space. I fell in love with Peninsula’s Robert Allen Pagoda fabric and couldn’t be happier with how it turned out! It was such an easy process and the curtain is my favorite part of the room. The extra long length helps this tiny bathroom feel much more grand!
Be sure to follow along with Peninsula on Instagram for all kinds of custom home decor & pretty inspiration!
The mirror I purchased is a long-time favorite from Ballard Designs and I knew I needed it somewhere in the house. I paired it with this cute light. Y’all, this light is precious and under $50! Can’t beat it. A gorgeous print by one of my favorite artists, Blakely Little also made it’s way into AG’s bathroom. The colors were just right! We finished out the room by adding a pair of lucite drawer pulls to the cabinet doors and a pair of lucite hex pulls to the drawers. Pretty hardware makes all the difference, doesn’t it?!
Love how this sweet space turned out!
love y’all, mckenzie
