I’m such a weirdo when it comes to toys. 99% of AG’s toys were generous gifts from loved ones and friends which is wonderful! But I always feel like she has tooo many! Too many options. Too many decisions for such a young child. When I was in school studying education and now that I’m a mama, I’m a sucker for an article about child development and early learning. I love learning more about children’s toys and how they impact development. Moving forward I’d love to fill AG’s playroom with carefully selected open-ended toys (more on that here!) but she could honestly have cared less about that type of toy when she was itty bitty. She loved things that lit up and things that made noise. Lots and lots of noise. haha! She’s finally at that golden age where she’s learning to play with toys and investigate how things work so we’re trying to steer her toward more of those open ended toys. Toy rant over. Here’s what she’s playing with this summer! ๐
This water table was a gift from Pearce’s sisters for AG’s first birthday. It’s my #1 toy recommendation for one year olds! Helps them walk because they learn to scale around the table, so much fun for them to splash in, and could easily be filled with balls or sand to mix things up!
This tunnel was another birthday gift (available at Target in stores but currently sold out online – but this one is darling!!) AG loves to speed crawl and also loves to hide in things… so this is a dream come true for her!
We’re obsessed with this inflatable pool and if you follow along on instagram you’ve probably heard me raving about it. We originally purchase a minnidip pool but it was terrible quality, although it was really cute! This pool is the best $35 we’ve ever spent! Pearce and I can both fit comfortably in the pool alongside AG in her float. Love that it has cup holders AND a bench! Also works as a play pen to keep baby contained outside! haha! ๐
Our bubble machine (another awesome bday gift!) has been a hit with not only AG but the older kids in the neighborhood too! We may go broke buying bubbles though! ๐ It is nice that’s it not battery powered so you never have to worry about replacing those!
This pram is finally on AG’s radar. We got it for her for Christmas but she hasn’t shown much interest in it until now. Such a cute little walker but will be just as much fun when she’s a bit older and wants to load her baby dolls up for a stroll around the house!
